Meet Your 2025 Doncaster Mustangs Coaching Staff

The foundation of any successful football team starts with leadership, and the Doncaster Mustangs are proud to introduce an exceptional coaching staff for the 2025 season. Head Coach: Martyn Richmond

Leading the charge is Head Coach Martyn Richmond, a true embodiment of what it means to be a Mustang. As a long-standing member of the Mustangs family, Coach Richmond has earned his stripes both as a dedicated player on the field and as a committed coach on the sidelines. Respected by teammates and peers alike, there's simply no one more fitting to take up the mantle of leadership.

Stepping into his first season as Head Coach, Richmond brings a fresh perspective and renewed energy that has the entire team fired up. The squad is determined to help their beloved coach secure his first victory in this new role, making this season even more meaningful for the entire organization.

Offensive Coordinator & Assistant Head Coach: Christopher Wroath

Orchestrating the offensive side of the ball is Christopher Wroath, whose title as Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator speaks to his invaluable role within the organization. Coach Wroath has masterminded a completely new style of Mustangs offense for 2025, promising an exciting evolution in how the team approaches the game.

With extensive experience across all levels of British football, Wroath has established himself as an elite football strategist. His deep understanding of the game and innovative approach has everyone eagerly anticipating what this revamped offense will bring to the field this season.

Defensive Coordinator: Paul "The Man of Steel" Coley

Anchoring the defensive unit is Paul Coley, affectionately known as "The Man of Steel" – a nickname that perfectly captures his approach to coaching defense. With over 30 years of experience in the game, Coach Coley brings a wealth of knowledge and a forceful presence that has already created a defense to be reckoned with in 2025.

His creative thinking, born from three decades of football experience, combined with his passionate character, has instilled a new level of confidence and aggression in the defensive unit. The anticipation is building to see what this revitalized defense can accomplish this season.

Running Backs Coach: Jola "Our Very Own Derrick Henry" Obisesan

Transitioning from player to coach due to injury, Jola Obisesan has brought his passion for the game to a new role on the sidelines. Known as "our very own Derrick Henry" for his powerful running style, Coach Obisesan remains an important voice for the team, now channeling his expertise into developing the next generation of Mustangs running backs.

Popular both on and off the field, Jola's work with the running backs throughout the preseason has generated significant excitement, and everyone is eager to see his coaching philosophy come to fruition on game day.

Club Captain & Line Coach: Shaun Archer

Serving dual roles as Club Captain and assistant coach for the linemen on both sides of the ball, Shaun Archer embodies leadership in every sense of the word. Coach Archer leads by example, possessing a calm nature that masks a steely determination to win – qualities that make him an invaluable asset to the coaching staff.

His ability to connect with players while maintaining the respect necessary for effective coaching makes him a perfect bridge between the playing squad and the coaching staff.

Offensive Line Coach: Matt "Coach Trenches" Millington

Making history as the first Mustang to represent the team at both junior and senior levels before transitioning to coaching, Matt Millington has already left his mark on the 2025 squad. Known as "Coach Trenches," his work with the offensive line during the preseason has resulted in considerable improvement, setting the foundation for offensive success.

His unique perspective, having experienced the Mustangs journey from youth football through to senior level, brings an invaluable understanding of the organization's culture and values.

Defensive Backs Coach: Marion "Mademoiselle Lockdown" Fernande

The Mustangs coaching staff makes history in 2025 with the addition of Marion Fernande, the organization's first-ever female coach. Known as "Mademoiselle Lockdown," Coach Fernande has earned her position purely on merit, bringing extensive experience from both men's and women's football.

Her popularity within the group and proven talent make her a valued member of the coaching staff, representing a progressive step forward for the organization while maintaining the high standards expected of all Mustangs coaches.

Defensive Assistant: Jordan "The Observer" Chesham

Rounding out the coaching staff is Jordan Chesham, known as "The Observer" for his keen football intelligence and analytical approach to the game. Coach Chesham has assisted the defensive coordinator while overseeing the development of the defensive backs, bringing an intelligent football mind to the sidelines.

His presence on the field and ability to read the game will be crucial components in the team's pursuit of success this season.
